Loss prevention surveys allow to evaluate the risk of undesirable events that may happen and to estimate the possible
losses and the preventive actions aimed to reduce them.
Risk analysis is developed through five steps, corresponding to five questions that should be answered during the analysis:
Within the loss prevention activities, we are ready to act on behalf of H&M Underwriters and P&I Clubs for
condition surveys aimed to verify the standards of both vessel and personnel.
At the completion of the condition survey, the results are discussed with Master, Chief Engineer and, if present onboard,
Ship's Superintendent. If deficiencies are found, recommendations will be issued to the Master in writing.
Proof of corrective actions will be requested to the Master or to the Ship's Superintendent and, in case of serious non conformities,
a follow-up survey might be further carried out.
We are able to perform hatch covers tightness tests by means of ultrasonic equipment, as recommended by many Insurers and Charterers,
both as a standalone service or jointly with a condition survey.
We have carried out several risk assessments specifically for Hull & Machinery Underwriters,
as per following Joint Hull Committee guidelines :
- JH2013/007A: Engine Room, Machinery and Bunker Fuel Risk Assessment
- JH2013/007B: Condition Survey
- JH2013/007C: Crew and Office Management Assessment
- JH2013/007D: Structural Condition Survey
- JH143: Shipyard Risk Assessment
